Geocache Description:

Published on Leap Day 2008 - A traditional cache hidden on a disused railway line which is now part of the Thames Path.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Thames Path follows England's best known river for 184 miles (294km) as it meanders from its source in the Cotswolds through several rural counties and on to the City of London. On its way the Trail passes peaceful water meadows rich in wildlife, historic towns and many lovely villages, finishing at the Thames Barrier near Greenwich.
This railway track was built to carry the now closed Midland and South Western Junction Railway between Cheltenham and Andover. There were many nicknames for the M&SWJR (including “Tiddley Dyke” see Tiddley Dyke Crossing ), but as the main goods traffic in this area was milk it was known locally as the “Milky Way”.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

We recommend parking at Cerney Wick and starting with The Latton Basin, making a 5km circular walk which will pass by several other local caches.

For a shorter walk we recommend parking at N 51° 39.426 W 001° 53.813.
