Not many people know about Fife’s only Tropical Rain Forest. I don’t suppose they would expect to find one this far North however it does exist. There are a number of prehistoric remains of tropical forests at various locations around the country, remnants of those far off days when the place was wee bit warmer. Unlike those, ours is not prehistoric remains or fossilized, this tropical rain forest is alive and kicking and full of weird and wonderful things.Obviously I wasn’t going to send wary cachers’ into the forest itself, with the thick forest canapé the GPS signal is very poor, the birds, beasts and creepy crawlies can be very dangerous, and the local tribes are well known for eating strangers. The cache itself is located at a distant viewing place where you can get a full appreciation of the tropical forest.
