Whether you're a person who's always wanted to give Geocaching a
try, or a seasoned veteran, this event is for you!
Locations will be set up just for this event where you can
locate a cache, identify a wildflower and collect a bead to show
you were there. The best way to find these wildflower locations is
with a GPS!
Meet at the Nature Center (the event's posted coordinates) to
check-in and get started. Participants can geocache individually,
as families or as teams. Each will be given coordinates for the
caches, a scorecard, and a length of string to hold their collected
beads. At the end of the day, turn in your scorecard for a chance
at some prizes and keep your string of beads as a memento!
There will be 20 GPS units available to use for those who would
like to give geocaching a try, but have yet to purchase the
equipment.
Several experienced cachers will be on hand to help answer your
questions!
Plan to bring your lunch and join others interested in this fun
family activity at a group picnic.
