A small tub located on a footpath close to Roughton Heath.
In September 1933, Albert Einstein was brought to live in a small beach hut on Roughton Heath after fleeing Nazi Germany. Commander Oliver Locker-Lampson MP offered Einstein a refuge in Norfolk. Sometimes he would walk over the Heath to do some shopping at Roughton Post Office; he also visited the local school and handed out sweets to the children. He told a local reporter ‘All I want is peace, and could I have found a more peaceful retreat than here’. A blue plaque commemorating Einstein's stay can be found at the entrance of the New Inn public house in the village, where a refreshing drink might be a good a reward.
