Geocache Description:

Hello, and Welcome to:

Unfortunately, you’ve arrived too late to meet John Boddy. He’s just been murdered. The 29-year-old victim was the nephew of the late Sir Hugh Black, the previous owner of the Tudor Mansion.

Orphaned at an early age, young John Boddy was brought to Tudor mansion to be raised by his uncle. Sir Black, however, had no idea how to deal with a child - so he sent Boddy off to the finest boarding school in England. During holidays, the housekeeper, Mrs. White, tended to the boy.

Boddy worked hard in school, earned his doctorate in anthropology, and returned to Tudor Mansion after his uncle’s death. The never-married Sir Black had placed his estate in Trust, to be inherited by Boddy on his thirtieth birthday.

Soon after arriving back at Tudor Mansion, Boddy discovered a steady trickle of “allowances” from his late uncle’s estate to unknown persons, for unknown reasons. Was Black being blackmailed? Was he supporting a secret cause? Or, was it something more nefarious?

Boddy vowed to get to the bottom of these murky financial dealings. To that end, he invited Sir Black’s former associates to Tudor Mansion for a weekend visit. It was during this weekend, with all these colorful guests in attendance, that Boddy was mysteriously murdered!

Your job is to collect the clues and locate the room the murder occurred in, the weapon that was used and, the houseguest that perpetrated the crime. There are 9 rooms in Tudor Mansion, 6 possible weapons and, 6 prime suspects. For this series, you will visit each room(cache) and eliminate different variables. Your 6 possible weapons are: a knife, a candlestick, a revolver, a rope, a lead pipe, and a wrench. Here are your suspects:

Colonel Mustard: An old acquaintance of Sir Black that later befriended John Boddy. Since retiring, Mustard convinced a publisher that his military exploits would make a good book. Having received several advanced payments, he has produced only one chapter. Meanwhile, creditors hound him in search of payments due.

Mr. John Green: Mr. Green met Sir Black and John Boddy while traveling in England, acting as a reverend, spreading his own version of “rob from the rich and give to the poor.” Rumour has it that police have questioned Green regarding allegations of fraud, smuggling, and money laundering.

Mrs. Patricia Peacock: Mrs. Peacock, a social butterfly, was forced to leave England after her involvement in a messy romantic triangle with two important political figures. While traveling in the US, she befriended Margaret Boddy, mother of John Boddy. Widowed three times, she has been living on her late husbands fortunes which are now nearly exhausted because of her lavish lifestyle.

Professor Peter Plum: An expert in ancient mid-eastern history, Sir Black funded several archaeological expeditions for Plum, and it was through Sir Black, that Plum met John Boddy. Recently, Plum was dismissed from his job at the British Museum, as much of his writings had allegedly been lifted from the notes of a colleague who was killed in a freak accident.

Miss Josephine Scarlet: Miss Scarlet is the daughter of Mrs. Peacock. The two seldom speak, as jealousy and envy is the basis for their relationship. Miss Scarlet is an actress whose aspirations exceed her talent. Recently the tabloids have been covering her exploits and her new career which focuses on rich old widowers. To avoid more bad publicity, she has joined her mother for the holiday weekend at Tudor Mansion.

Mrs. Blanche White: Mrs. White was John Boddy’s long time housekeeper and cook. She was one of the few employees that Boddy retained after his father’s death. Now 63, Mrs. White appears to have little to show for her years of dedicated service.

When you figure out who murdered John Boddy, the weapon they used to kill him, and the room in Tudor Mansion that he was murdered in, you will know which coordinates to use for the final cache.

Good Luck!!! John Boddy is counting on you!!
