Padre #1 Traditional Cache
MistyCanyonMan: The Forest Service put a barb wire fence across the main access, so I am moving the cache. Too bad, because it is an awesome spot.

Accessible from the I-40 frontage road from Winona, or from a gate at MM218 Eastbound. There is a road up to the top at the south side. 4x4 is recommended, or park near the base and hike up. The short but steep hike is well worth the views. You can see for miles.
A .30 Cal Ammo can is hidden in the lichen covered lava rocks at the top. I chose this spot as the location for my first hide because the view is spectacular from here. You have a majestic view of the San Francisco peaks to the West. Anderson Mesa and Mormon Mountain are to the South, The Hopi Mesas and Buttes, and Painted Desert are to the North and East. I named the cache for some of the nearby Benchmarks, see if you can find them. Please re-hide the container as well as you found it, and enjoy the view!
