Camps Pond Preserve Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Devil Duckies: We're moving so I'm pulling or adopting out our caches. Still a very cool place for a cache. Maybe someone else will place a cache here.

Geocache Description:

Not much of a pond but a heck of a kettle hole! Hike will take you along an old woods road with a 100' elevation change down to the bottom of a huge kettle hole.

This was one of Judy's hang outs when she was growing up here. If you walk the whole trail you'll see one of her friends cars that didn't make it out. When hiking in to place this cache we saw the biggest flock of turkeys I've ever seen crossing the trail ahead of us. Must have been 50 to 75 of them. Cache container is regular size with trades for all ages. The east end trailhead/parking waypoint is at the end of Old Sag Harbor Rd, here the road turns into a old dirt woods road. Follow it keeping the split rail fence on your left. This should bring you to the preserve sign and a three way fork in the trail. The middle path takes you directly down into the kettle hole.
