GeoKs: Retrieved container today...it's amazing how much this area has changed since the cache was placed in 2008, with more houses going up all the time. I do believe the stones that used to comprise WP1 have been absorbed into the constantly shifting about of dirt. Final was in great shape and within just a few metres of where it was originally placed.

Geocache Description:

You will need to know how to do projections to complete this two-stage multi-cache. Posted terrain rating assumes you follow the dirt paths and do not go bushwhacking!!

There are several well-worn trails in this area. NOTE: These trails have some steep sections and can be slippery if there’s snow or ice on the ground. Use caution and consider wearing traction devices on your shoes.

Make your way along the trails to the posted coordinates where you may wish to take a minute or two to enjoy the views. This is a great vantage point to look east along the Bow River valley towards downtown and across the Bow River valley to Bowmont Park and the Alberta Children’s Hospital.

At the posted coordinates you will also find two numbers on the bottom side of several rocks. The final coordinates for this cache require a projection from the posted coordinates using A meters at B degrees true.

Although it will be tempting to bushwhack to the final coordinates, you will likely find it easier to follow the well-worn trails as one of them will take you to within about 3 meters of the final hiding spot, which is also near some mildly interesting artifacts.

You will be searching for a small, square, camo-painted lock ‘n’ lock.

NOTE: this cache has been placed for the CAR Winter 2008 – Calgary event and should not be sought out until after 5:30 pm on March 7, 2008. Any logs from before that time will be deleted.
