The early history of the village of Lolworth and All Saints church is unknown, though the Domesday Survey records that a certain Robert held land at Lolesworde. The church in its present form possibly dates from 1406. Sometime earlier there were thunderstorms which did much damage across the country and especially in Cambridgeshire where houses and crops near Lolworth and in the village were terribly burnt down. The field next to the church is still called Burnt close. The village is very small and goes - nowhere - but the church yard is beautifully maintained and a peacful place only a stone's throw from the A14. If you have shopping to do park at N52 15 252 E 000 00 865 and walk .61ml to the cache on a very good path. OR drive to the village where there is plenty of parking near the Green. Why not do Off yer Trolley by Cromscout & Trouble'N' strife (GCWZZP) whilst you are here.
