Easy cache within Kinghorn cemetery.
This cache has been set for the Lang Spoon cache bash and is not loggable until Friday 11th April 2008.
Kinghorn's cemetery lies near the main Burntisland road on the edge of the town. At the high point of the cemetery lies the Carlin Craig - the Witch's Rock. Witches were once tried here - a euphemism for torture and torment. A merciful hearing would see the witch thrown over the side of the high rock, tethered only by the neck with a chain that was fixed to a heavy iron ring. Here we can still see a real sign of man's inhumanity to man as the iron ring lies, remarkably preserved, on short sea grass.
Cache can be accessed by parking at the entrance to the cemetery and walking up to the corner nearest the railway line.
You cannot access the cache site from any other direction due to rockface and railway line.
Once at site look through railings and the tether is in plain view.
