Geocache Description:

This cache is one of a series set at or near churches in the lovely surroundings of the Shropshire countryside.

We’d like to thank The Washers for conceiving the idea, initiating the series and inviting other cachers to add to it.

The Parish Church of St. Peter, Worfield is said to have been founded by the Saxon Earl Leofric, husband to Lady Godiva. A church built in the Saxon period would probably have been made of wood. The existing church is mainly 14th Century but lower parts of its north wall are thought to be 13th Century. There is a ring of 6 bells in the tower and most of them were cast in 1699. The largest (the tenor) bell weighs 15 cwt. (762 kg).

Take care with geokids in the immediate vicinity of the cache.

The cache is a camo’d 450ml Lock ‘n’ Lock type container. Please ensure the cache is well hidden when you replace it.

All you have to do is take some photos while you're out and about doing our caches and upload them to your logs. At the end of the year we'll choose our favourite photo of the year and give a prize of a year's premium membership. So good luck and get snapping!
