This event will last 15 minutes only - we will pack everything into
this 15 minutes including the logging requirements, group meal,
group photo, prize raffle and event CITO before leaving.
This event is being hosted by members of each of the 3 geocaching
groups listed above!
Stay tuned for more details as the event gets closer!
This event is in the Gander Mountain parking lot, so what better
way to confound the muggles than to have a Car Show spontaneously
appear.
We recognize that your choice in vee-hickle when you go caching is
not always the prettiest car on the lot and might not be the
cleanest.
It does function to explore the road less travelled and sometimes
where there really isn't a road.
Most of us remember all the traditional 50's themed Car Shows from
"earlier" in our lives.
Since no one really wants to admit how old we are, we will slide a
decade or two forward and encourage you to wear as much tie-dye as
you wish so we can tell the cachers from the muggles.
Here is what you can expect for this event:
Remember to use the GPS time as the official clock for the event.
Since there is limited access to Ground Zero, begin infiltrating
the lot at 12:30 - 12:45. We will have a subtle sign so we can
concentrate in one area.
Park your favorite cachemobile facing outward in your spot but
remain inside or in the store until the appropriate time.
No one is to be at Ground Zero until the clock strikes 1:00 PM -
until then just watch others join the party.
Here is what the Itinerary looks like:
1:00 - Raise the hood of your cachemobile so you can proudly
show off all those duct tape modifications you have made.
If your cachemobile has won "trophies" at other car shows, display
them proudly along with a sign describing your cachemobile's
attributes, caches found, etc.
A bucket of swag and log sheets will be placed at ground zero for
trading and logging. Only those whose names appear on a log sheet
can count the event.
A car-themed Travel bug/geocoin corral will be set up so bring as
many as you can find. We would like to get a group shot of all bugs
present prior to trading so be as patient as time allows.
1:07 Meal time -FISH (goldfish) and CHIPS)
1:09 Group Photo - everybody please be quick about this one
1:11 Raffle tickets for prizes (tba)
1:13 CITO of the area (use container received at start)
1:14 One Minute Warning - get ready to vacate but don't act
like it
1:15 - Event concludes and everyone jumps in their
cachemobiles and drives off in an orderly/Gumball Rally style.
We now have 2 videographers for the event - make sure to say your
geocachers name when the cameras are looking at you!
This could be our 15 minutes of fame!
The video will run a couple of minutes longer to see everyone
leaving
That's it - 15 minutes and then we are outta there!
After the event - those who wish can meet up for a meet and great
(TBA) or go on about your caching business.
