This magnificent eagle is found throughout the Northern Hemisphere,
though not in great numbers. The golden eagle is a spectacular
hunter and can dive at 100 miles an hour or more. Its prey is
varied and includes game birds and small mammals, particularly
jackrabbits. The golden eagle was revered by Native Americans, who
often used its feathers in their headdresses.
