Geocache Description:

Here we go again for some fun times at Hayes State Park! Last year was soooo much fun, we just HAD to do it again!! Come on out for the day or the weekend, we'll be there having a GREAT time!! There is a fee to enter the park unless you have a state parks sticker!

Come on out and join us June 6th-8th for another great celebration of our friendship with our state parks and esecially our friends out here in Brooklyn. We have big plans again this year, a scavenger hunt, Friday evening meal and late night stroll (I promise, a much better cache will be chosen this year), games, silent auction Sunday camper's breakfast etc.

This year's Saturday feast will be primarily provided by the participants of our DUTCH OVEN COOKOFF!! Provided we get enough participants, we're going to hold this contest, each participant will need to cook enough to serve a portion to around 100 people (yes, I'm being optimistic here). If there is enough to have this competition, we hope to have two catagories: main dish and desert! Please let us know of your intentions to participate when posting your will attend! Prizes will be awarded!!

Potluck for everyone NOT participating in the Dutch Oven Cookoff:

A-E Beverages/pop

F-J Veggies/dip or fruit/dip

K-O Snacks

P-T Desserts

U-Z Potato Salad or other type of salad

I will be supplying a main dish of some type, we're working on that still!!

There will be ALL NEW CACHES to find this year, we will be placing them very soon! Many will be published for the event...maybe even a water cache this year Anne?? As many of you know, there are some wonderful areas here, some of the landscape can be a bit rugged though!! Come prepared with the appropriate clothing and bug spray...and maybe even some suntan lotion??

Located in the Irish Hills area on M-124 just to the north of US-12, we are approxiamtely 20 minutes from Jackson, 40 minutes from Ann Arbor, about an hour from Toledo area, maybe a bit more from the Detroit area...close by for our Ohio and Indiana friends to come and join, as well as our northern friends!!

go to our extra information site (click here) for more info on local attractions, hotel etc...and COINS!!
