Blazing Guns Traditional Cache
MADSTARS: Major repairs are needed and I am too far away.
A local cacher can use the container and call this their own.
Enjoy.

The walk to the top of Tomaree Peak is the most popular bushwalk in the area. Tomaree Head stands 160 metres above the entrance of Port Stephens. Start the walk from the Zenith Beach carpark.
We pushed a stroller up to place the cache with no problem (rather steep though). The paved trail leads around the lower slopes of Tomaree Head to the World War II gun emplacements. ‘Fort Tomaree’ was established during World War II and was part of the defence system for the east coast of Australia between 1941-1945. More information about the military relics is available along the walk.
If you decide to take the journey to the summit you will be well rewarding with the breathtaking panoramic views over Port Stephens, to the nature reserves of Broughton Island, Cabbage Tree Island and Boondelbah Island. Make sure you take some drinking water with you and allow around 1¼ hours for the return journey.
The cache is a medium - large 2 litre Sistema container. It contains a logbook, pens, and the usual treasure trove of goodies. The trick is getting to the cache without the attention of muggles.
