Accessed only from the Quarry Ridge Trail
This site was recently retired as the backstop for the rifle
and pistol range of the Sylvania-Medusa Gun Club. Serving its
purpose, the mound has a high lead content (and I admit, I
contributed). If you look around it's easy to spot evidence of
target shooting, pieces of clay pigeons and old shotgun shells are
scattered about, even along the trail. Looking over the mound
you'll see what's left of the gun club that operated for 50 or more
years, the main building has been demolished.
Bring a writing tool / Take a Pb sample
No need to go past the mound to get
the cache, in fact it's private property and to be
avoided.
