Park at Bell Rock trailhead/parking lot just north of the Village of Oak Creek. Take Courthouse Butte Loop Trail FS trail 135 south of Courthouse Butte.
The several vortices in the Sedona area, particularly those at Bell Rock, caught the attention of the beings on the fourth planet. Homing in on the feminine energy field at Bell Rock the Martians guided their interglactic spaceships to this sight, blasting off the overburden and laying bare the substrata of rock with their rocket engines as they landed and departed. This visit, of course, took place eons ago but the scars left by their visit persist in the Martian LZ. While visiting keep a keen eye to the sky just in case there is a return flight.
Look for the stone dam built across the dry wash between Courthouse Butte and Lee Mountain, there turn east and follow secondary feeder wash for easy access. Cache contains a rosewood pen, red glass bird, Cracker Barrel peg game, letter opener, several Mardi Gras beads and Mardi Gras key chain.
