"I went to the crossroad, Fell down on my knees"
Robert Leroy Johnson (May 8, 1911 – August 16, 1938) is among the most famous Delta Blues musicians and arguably the most influential. Considered by some to be the "Grandfather of Rock-and-Roll," his vocal phrasing, original songs, and guitar style influenced a range of musicians, including Led Zeppelin, Bob Dylan, The Rolling Stones, U2, and Eric Clapton, who called Johnson "the most important blues musician who ever lived.
Legend has it that Johnson heard a dog howling pitifully on a moonlit night as he stood at a crossroads in Mississippi
A tall man appeared from nowhere and Johnson commented on the dog. The stranger said the dog was his. Johnson, wishing to try and emulate the sound for his blues songs asked if it was for sale. The stranger said no, but the sound was.
The stranger was the devil and the price was to be Johnsons' soul!!!
I have changed this to a traditional cache as enough souls have been collected!! Technically the name isn't relevent any more, but I'll not change it as the theme of the swaps is still "devilish"
There are tracks all the way, so no need to leave them and get lost in the trees! It can get muddy in places, so boots are recommended.
If the weather is nice, bring a picnic, the area around GZ is quite pretty
Check out the web link above to hear the man himself
