Geocache Description:

A backroad cache near Freeman and west of Hwy 79.

This cache will test your desert back-road and dead reckoning route finding abilities as you will probably not find a straight line drive to the cache. This area is crisscrossed with roads on one mile section lines and plenty of half milers thrown in for good measure. There are numerous ways into this area; Hwy 79 has several accesses, the gas line road that runs parallel to Park Link is another option. As for me, I just follow my nose; I usually end up somewhere. Either way you are in for some slight off-roading as you will undoubtedly have to cross some arroyos. 4wd isn’t necessary and if you have one you probably won’t lock the hubs but high clearance IS advised unless you use your two foot drive. Also, I wouldn’t bring my pretty little SUV back here unless you plan on taking it home with some desert pin-striping as some of the roads are narrow and not well travelled. If your route takes you due south of the cache you will see one interesting saguaro just off the road and towards the cache. The cache itself is just another ammo can in the desert and Please Tread Lightly as it is a short walk from the road. FTF will find a piece of Geo-swag. I got a pretty good idea who all will hunt this cache, suffice to say “this cache’s for you.”
