Geocache Description:

Situated by Mt Baldy Notch (elevation 7950') in the Angeles National Forest.

Mt Baldy is the largest and steepest ski hill in Southern California. When it’s blessed with good snow there are great advanced runs down to the parking area and off mighty Thunder Mountain.

Ride up Chair 1 year-round (hours, fares, directions at www.shopbaldy.com). In dry months you may directly hike the liftline (Sugarpine) from the parking lot, or bike/hike the scenic San Antonio Falls Road from Manker Flat.

Do take a few moments to look at the historic photographs inside the Top of the Notch restaurant. Mt Baldy Ski Lifts was established in 1944 and has a storied past (www.shopbaldy.com/story.lasso).

The cache is placed unobtrusively yet is clearly visible and accessible in all seasons. Black magnetic nano. Please rehide it the same way. Bring your own pen. Be discreet and avoid looking for this during (ski)class days. Smile and wave to the ski patrol.
