Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
A small series of caches that can be used as the basis of a
circular walk in one of the quieter parts of the Brecon Beacons
National Park.
The caches have been placed so that it is possible to reach them by
walking up to the ridgeline, following it around before crossing
the Ystradfellte valley to return to the suggested parking
coordinates. The caches are located in rough terrain in a remote
area with changeable weather and should only be attempted by those
with at least a bare minimum of suitable kit including good walking
boots, a waterproof jacket, map, compass and basic navigational
skills. This cache is easily reached from Fan Dringarth and is
located near the apex of the spectacular natural amphitheatre
formed by the cliffs at Craig Cerrig-gleisiad. On a clear day the
view from the cache location to the north is breathtaking and any
logs that include pictures of the view will be much appreciated!
When retrieving the cache, please be careful to gently lift the
front edge of the rock it is hidden under as the back end it still
attached to the ground and the slab of rock rests on top of the
cache. For suggested parking and access coordinates, please see the
listing for GC1A44P (V-H1 Walking, not dancing) Many thanks to Sgt
Good of the Royal Signals for his assistance in placing this
cache.
