Geocache Description:

A walking adventure with beautiful scenery, many opportunities for photos. Enjoyable for all ages, for 2 leggeds and their 4 legged friends of the canine persuasion.

You can park in the main parking area near the house, washrooms and Nature House. You will then need to take a walk, head left from the beach (swimming area). Continue along the trail until you come to large bridge. You will find there are many trails, you may go either right or continue straight. Both trails will take you to the very end of the Island where you will find the first stage. I enjoy all of the seasons here. Some of the trails are not passable in spring when they are flooded but most of the main trails are open all year. Although some times the trails can be icy an very slippery so you should avoid them at those times for obvious safety reasons. You could spend the whole day here. Depending on the season there are Saskatoons to pick, birds to watch, beavers, muskrats, ducks, geese, pelicans, area to swim, picnic, walk, or sit on a bench and enjoy the scenery. There is only one stage before the final. There used to be more but several times they have gone missing. One of the stages was under the bridge but then in 2011 there was quite high water levels so you could not reach it. Then in 2012 the bridge was replaced all together. If you take the first trail on the right after crossing the bridge and then go around and up to the left you will come to a bench where there is a nice view. Its a dead end but a nice view and stage 2 used to be here. Take your time and enjoy.
