How Geocaching Works

Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions in our disclaimer.

Geocache Description:

The Cache is NOT at the posted coords! Difficulty level is based on the possible tasks that you may have to do. The actual hide should be obvious. This is “an easy cache with a twist.”

CURRENT MISSION
(should you choose to accept it)
:

Do a Mime routine in front of the Bessborough Hotel.
(See log for details.)

The cache coordinates are located as an additional waypoint of this cache. They are not at the posted coordinates so people don't log a find on the physical cache and claim they didn't know about the additional logging requirements.

The cache itself is a cammoed water bottle. Please be stealthy. This should be an easy find, but we would appreciate if you would participate by trying to complete the current challenge.

TO LOG THIS CACHE, PLEASE DO THE FOLLOWING:
  • Sign and date the PHYSICAL LOG in the lock & lock.
  • Complete the CURRENT MISSION above.
  • Post proof of your having completed the mission, along with instructions for a unique NEW MISSION for the next geocacher to complete.
Please do not post a find on this cache until you've completed all three steps.

Clarifications and Explanations
The tasks can be anything that you can dream up as long as they are do-able and family friendly. The mission you assign to the next finder must be something easily verifiable in a "Found it" log. It should be something that a cacher of any age can complete. An exception to this is that you are not allowed to assign a task asking the next cacher to place/host a new cache/event. We reserve the right to remove, change or reassign a task if it is deemed unreasonable or inappropriate. Some examples to help you on your way:
- Post your log in a certain style (example: in French, using only 3 letter words, in a rhyming poem)
- Take a photo with something or someone or doing something (example: with a police officer, in a costume, holding a sign on a street corner)
- Answer trivia questions (example: take a picture at homes in town that were used in movies, list 3 quotes by 3 different Mike Myers characters, where was the 1st cache?)

The possibilities are endless. Feel free to use any of the above examples or try browsing the tasks listed in the logs of the caches from which this one has descended.

~ But I don’t want to be a Pirate GC127DQ (Rochester, NY)
~ Scavenger Hunt Cache GC480C (Cincinnati, OH)
~ Plus ca Change… GC118EQ (Meredith, NH)
~ You want me to do WHAT?!? GCN29Q (Wayland, MA)
~ Wigwig and Homer GCJXHH (Jonesville, VT)

The task does not have to take place at the cache but it should be locally accessible within city limits. The tasks will be claimable on a first-come, first-serve basis. You will be required to do the most recently posted mission. If someone beats you to logging the mission and has already assigned a new task, you can:
a) post a note showing your task completion and try for an upcoming/current mission
b) log the find with task completion but without the ability to assign a new task*
*option B is only available if it is logged within 12 hours of the previous log.

Some exceptions to this last rule: -Those who complete the task as a group may all claim the find on the same task as long as it can be verified that all helped to complete it however, the authority for setting the next task goes to the first to log the find.
-If there are no takers on the latest task within 3 weeks of the posting, a cacher who has previously logged a find may complete the task and post a note with a new mission.

Be creative and have fun!
