LLKD-61 Solitary Pine
on Dead Oak Hill
While out
hiking came to an area of desolation where all the Oaks had been
killed off due to what I can only surmise. Perhaps the gypsy
moth caterpillars defoliated the area causing the die off.
Either way life has started to sprout anew with small pines only a
foot or so tall starting to grow. On the top of the hill
there stands a single, healthy majestic pine. It may be
solitary now but in a few years it will have company.
Cache is a
painted lock & lock with log book and pencil. As usual
please rehide better than you find it.
