Geocache Description:

Musu's Fast Food

The Gambia may be one of the smallest African countries, but it has warm temperatures, endless golden beaches, exotic birds, great fishing, and most importantly a taste of African vitality and friendship. People greet you with warmth, and genuine hospitality.

Given the number of tourists visiting the country, some of whom must be geocachers, we were surprised to find that up to the moment, there are only three caches in the entire country. This is now the fourth!

Serekunda is the largest town in The Gambia. It is a major centre of activity and the hub of the country’s transport network. It is a thriving and very busy market place, the streets are lined with shops and stalls, there is dust and noise everywhere, and it is a must for the tourist who wants a taste of urban West Africa.

This cache is placed in Serekunda, though slightly removed from all the bustle. It is at the home of a very good friend of ours, and when you find his compound at the given co-ordinates, you just need to ask for “the box”. It is a small, tab lock box, containing the usual log book and swap items, and is in the care of our friend Dodou (pictured below) and his family – you may be sure of a warm welcome.

Small note on cache maintenance: There is a local cache guardian - name and contact info on file with
