camdan: Både hus och cache borta. Vilket jag faktiskt hade lite svårt att tro på innan jag fick sett det med egna ögon.

Detta var en av mina första utlagda cacher. Därför är det med viss sorg i sinnet som denna arkiveras

Engelholm- Water Tower

I början av 1900-talet behövdes ett vattentorn till den växande staden Ängelholm. På den högsta punkten i staden fanns en gravhög från bronsåldern. På den tiden brydde man sig inte särskilt mycket om fornminnen, således byggdes vattentornet inuti (!) gravhögen.

Här intill står också ett senare byggt vattentorn. Från platsen har du en milsvid utsikt över Ängelhomsslätten, och norrut kan du se Hallands Ås.

När du ändå är här så rekommenderas ett besök på närliggande cachen The Monument of Stjernswärd (GC18KRH)

In the beginnning of the 20th century the growing city of Ängelholm needed a water-tower. On the highest point in the city there was an Bronze-age burial mound. At the time beeing people didn´t care a lot about ancient leavings. So they built the watertower inside (!) the burial mound.

Near the old water tower there is also newer a water tower. From the spot there is an scenic view over the Plain of Ängelholm and in the north you can see the Ridge of Halland.

I also recommend a visit to the nearby cache The Monument of Stjernswärd (GC18KRH)
