Church Micro 225 - Orlestone Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

TheMightyFinn: A shame to archive this one as people obviously enjoyed coming up here to both cache and explore the church, but after numerous sabotages it's time to call it a day. Thanks to everyone to found and enjoyed.

Geocache Description:

Number 225 in the Church Micro Series.

St Mary's Church is located at Orlestone, the original site of the village of Hamstreet, which moved down the hill during the plague. Parts of the church date back to the 11th century and is now only used a couple of times a year. Parking spaces are available outside the church.

The cache is hidden near one of the oldest headstones in the country, dated 1676. Headstones, as opposed to wooden crosses, only date from 1650, so this is a great piece of history to discover along with the stunning Church.

If anybody would like to expand the Church Micro series please do, we would just ask that you could let Sadexploration know first so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names, to avoid duplication.

The coordinates for nearby 'Ham Hundred 2' can also be found in this cache!
