Geocache Description:

A DeAnn Prairie cache

I ask that you to write a log telling a little about your adventure while hunting this cache. Writing a good log is the only payment for any geocacher. As owner of this cache I can delete the log for any reason and a poor log is one of them. Thanks

This cache is in the DeAnn Prairie Cemetery which is part of the DeAnn Prairie. There are several interesting tombstones . We will visit a couple of these. The coordinates will take you to a WOW (Woodmen of the World) stone. Notice what this stone marker looks like. From the stone tree, you take a bearing of 340 degrees to the antigodlin stone.

adjective Southern and Western U.S.
1. lopsided or at an angle; out of alignment.
2. diagonal or cater-cornered.
an•ti•god•lin
Also, an•ti•gog•lin [Origin: 1895–1900; perh. ANTI- + gogglin, repr. prp. of Brit. dial. goggle to shake, tremble; var. with d perh. by dissimilation, reinforced by folk etym. as “against God”

Have you ever wondered or noticed that most tombstones are laid out facing east and west? This is commonly found throughout the world. People were buried with their feet pointing toward the east and their heads towards the west indicating that they were ready to rise up and face the “new day” when “the trumpet shall sound and the dead shall be raised” or when Christ would appear and they would be reborn. Through this writing, it is hoped that a better understanding on this custom will be explained.

Now that you have found this stone take a bearing of 355 degrees and go about 33 steps to the “entrance” of the “big green” and step inside. Your cache should be in the base tree on the right. The container is a round green type bottle. This has now turned into a tin can that has a gold/silvery color. It could take some very small items. It does not have a pencil so please bring one.
