Geocache Description:

Small camo'd lock & lock.

This will bring you to Terrapin Nature Park, which is open Dawn to Dusk.

This is part of my Cross Island Trail series. There are acres & acres of things to see here. Different habitats, birds, white tail deer, some creepy crawly slithers that are REALLY BIG & more flowers that you can count.

This will either be near the beginning or near the end of your CIT journey. You are required to have a permit to park in the park at this time but that will be changing in the next few months OBEY THE SIGNS.

As you walk or bike along the trail, from the parking lot, just before you get to the little wooden bridge there is a small grave yard off to the left (or to the Bay side). The best I could make out for a date was 1806. Then you'll continue along the path & if you watch closely on the left will be the 0.25 mile maker. Just beyond that is where you'll search for this cache.

Spoiler tree
This could be a spoiler. :)

If you look you will be able to tell that the deer use this area to rest. However across the path in the high reed area is where they travel through. You will be able to see some of their many trails here & if you are lucky & go real early you may even see them in the reeds. This was the main reason I chose this location

You will need to be careful as you approach GZ as it will be very prickly. Also be mindful on the local residents as they come from the marsh area to this area as well. Actually the slithers are all around the park area. EEEEWWWWWW!!!!! :)

The other reason I chose this location was the view you get as you return to the parking lot. The view, although a bit distant, is a pretty cool angle on the Bay Bridge. There are usually some Eagles in the air to watch also.

Please be careful of the wild life & the environment as much of it is much more fragile than it appears. Follow the rules of the park, spend some time exploring & most of all ENJOY!
