Geocache Description:

Cache is located 6 metres(approx)to the south of the forest path on a steep slope between Slorach's Wood and Tor Castle. It is in a tupperware container and is hidden in an eroded hole covered in twigs. Park near the last house in the village and walk through the Castle Hill woods starting at the bench.

A pleasant walk through the woods, the only difficulties on the way to the cache may be midges, rain and wet feet. On approaching Tor Castle, which is purely a geological feature, stay on the North side of the gorge. The cache is well hidden on the south side of the path. It is around halfway down the steep slope. I recommend the use of the Pathfinder Map series as it contains more details of the paths which in this case will take you to within a few metres of the location. In a slight overhang caused, I think, by erosion, the tupperware box is hidden, covered in twigs. A return journey from the village to the cache is about 2 hours.

The cache contains:

  • A small sum of money, for the first person there, to buy a couple of drinks or put towards a Chinese takeaway.
  • A wallet, pack of cards, poker dice, music cd, pack of fuses, bottle of water, whistle and pack of batteries.
Please sign the logbook and use the camera to take a photograph of yourself.
