Geocache Description:

Fairly easy walk on a track used by Turbine maintenance teams.

Parking is available at N 55 13 900, W 004 44 379. The cache is located within a section of Hadyard Hill wind farm. The actual cache site resembles the front of an old castle, although i believe it was possibly a copper kiln.Hadyard Hill wind farm boasts 52, 2.3 Megawatt turbines and used to be the largest onshore site in Britain. The turbines are 60 and 70 metres high depending on their actual siting. The top part of the turbine ,the nacelle and rotor ,weigh in at a hefty 142 tons each.I can vouch for some of the stunning views you get from the top on clear days ! May i suggest,if your struggling to find the cache,if you see any Siemens technicians,go speak to them. You never know who you may be talking too !
With thanks to Blinkiebill for his assistance with the cache.
WARNING :- PLEASE BE CAREFUL ON THE WIND FARM DURING STORMY OR ICY CONDITIONS.WHILST THE TURBINE BLADES ARE HEATED,ICE CAN BUILD UP AND WILL BE THROWN WHEN THE BLADES ARE IN MOTION.
