Geocache Description:

Carbuncle Pier,1,1,Coventry,RI

Carbuncle Pond is a premier trout pond for the state of Rhode Island. It is stocked with rainbow trout, large brown trout and salmon. There is also a native largemouth bass population. A handicap-accessible fishing pier has been built at this location. There is a swimming area at the far end of the pond and a boat launch for non-motorized boats. This is a popular and scenic area in the summertime. It is not uncommon to hear many whippoorwills at dusk in the summer. The North-South Trail and The Trestle Trail are both nearby. The only drawback is that the sloped portion of the road is often washed out. So be careful entering the area!

Trail Maps are available at the DEM's Website..

All users of state management areas, and all hunters statewide, must wear at least 200 square inches of solid daylight-fluorescent orange material from the first Saturday of October through the end of the season, February 28. Additional information for Turkey Season!
