Geocache Description:

Part of the Chorley Challenge - a cache in every Chorley village!

Ulnes Walton

Ulnes Walton is small but attractive. It is in the middle of a triangle with Leyland, Eccleston and Croston being the corners. It is thought to originate from a Viking called 'Ulf'. A portion of a house belonging to a farm named "Gradwell's" was formerly used as a Catholic chapel.

Bridge Bother

Park to the North on Holker Lane if you want to see the contrasting bridges. The cache is by a large, substantial new footbridge with great access. Yet where does it lead? Only one place - the other bridge on the route - which is almost impassable, and falling to bits. So what happened - did they overspend on the posh bridge? Or will the old bridge be mended, too?

It's part of the fun to negotiate it, though!
