The course runs in a loop in the southwestern corner of the
park, west of the Meadow Park Recreation Center. The published
coordinates are for a parking lot in the northeast corner of Meadow
Park. From there you can walk the path beyond the basketball court
and head southwest until you start seeing some of the exercise
areas along the course. Alternatively you can park along Meadow
Street, Woodbridge Street, or Exposition Drive. The exercise path
runs along the north and south sides of the creek, with a bridge
midway.
Along the Vita Course, you will gather clues at various points
to determine the final coordinates of the actual cache, which is
located nearby.
Here are the final coordinates:
N 35° QR.STU W 120° VW.XYZ
Here are the clues to the numbers you'll need:
- Determine the number of plaques on the entire Vita Course
(including the Finish). Add one and then multiply by 3. This is
VW.
- Find the exercise with the rings and count them. This is
T.
- Find the "Sit-ups" exercise. Subtract the number of Beginner
reps from the plaque number. This is Y.
- Find the exercise with the bars that never meet. Add the number
of Beginner reps plus the number of Advanced reps plus the number
of benches at this location. This is X.
- Find the plaque number of the exercise that begins "with hands
on bar and back straight." This is QR.
- Find the "Arm Circles" exercise (this is not Station 1). Divide
the number of Advanced reps by the number of Beginner reps. This is
Z.
- Count the number of times the letter "j" appears on the Finish
plaque. This is U.
- Find the only exercise area that has 4 plaques. Put the 4
numbers on the plaques in numerical sequence from highest to lowest
(D C B A). D – C – B – A = S.
The cache itself is an altoids tin. Please beware of muggles in
the area, and be sure to return the container carefully back to its
hiding spot.
The park is open daily from 5am to 10pm.
Bonus points for doing all exercises.
