The Ramsey Red Oak Liberty Tree was donated by VFW Post 682 during the 1976 Bicentennial. The tree seems to be thriving and there is a plaque on a huge boulder to commemorate the tree donation. The plaque also marks the entrance to another portion of Ramsey's 153 acres of "Green Acres", state dedicated lands for permanent recreation and open spaces for the benefit of the public.
The cache is about 35 feet from the plaque.
