THANK YOU!
I invite you to a pleasant, hardly 2 km long walk. When
approaching the cache points, be careful, since mainly on weekends
many people come here for dog walking, fishing or just to be on
their own, sitting on the bank and reading a newspaper. Care is
needed especially at the last point: try to approach and leave it
in different ways to avoid creation of visible cacher paths. You
can start the walk from the tram #1 (Nepfurdo u. stop) and after
walking around the Dagaly bath and swimming pool you can end it
there, too. And even more: after finding the cache, you can have a
good refresing bath, sauna or swim in the Dagaly!
It was quite difficult to find appropriate cache points on this
open river bank, free of bushes and trees, on the top of that
yearly threatened by floods. Therefore, as for the start, I've
worked out a multicache consisting of four points located
relatively close to each other. The time will show which one(s)
prove to be steady. The terrain is easy, however at point #2 keep
children away from the bank.
Compared to its size, Rakospatak stream takes a long, 47 km way
from its source at Sada, located NE of Budapest. The stream flows
first (nearly half of its way) south as if it can not decide
whether to flow to Danube or to Tisza but due to Godollo's ridge of
hills closing the way to east, its fate is determined from the
beginning. After flowing through the city of Godollo it continues
its way via a water-basin, passes village of Isaszeg and after some
short curves, at Pecel it turns West and keeps this direction for
about 10 km while flowing through Rakosmente suburbs of Budapest.
In Budapest's Kobanya diistrict the stream makes a slight curve
towards NW and flowing through Zuglo and Angyalfold, it flows into
the Danube.
