Seems that those semi-wily accountants over at nearby 32 Sarbanes Plaza have gone and gotten themselves in some hot water.

I strongly suspect that they are DEEEEEEEPLY implicated in the global financial crisis.

Something about "Entitlement to the unamortized net carry-trade or swaption-clearing sale proceeds shall be granted only if all collection procedures have been cleared by the relevant banks where and if such banks are authorized to collect foreign exchange payments, or consignment sales statements have been received from the BIS sales agent where a sales agent has been appointed pursuant to applicable laws, regulations, and precedents and if the aforementioed conditions cannot be documented then you're clearly in whole world of trouble, boy."

Whoa, doesn't sound too good!

At any rate, one of the Green Eyeshade Gang apparently hid a stash of foreign currency on the edge of the nearby Gamelands. No doubt trying to avoid the long arm of the law. From what I have been able to gather from recently-unsealed court records, that stash might include the following currencies:

Africa: South Africa (rand and cents), Namibia (dollars, cents), Ethiopia (bir), Kenya (shilling), West African francs

Asia: Japan (yen), Indonesia (rupiah), China (renminbi)

Europe: UK (pounds and pence), France (francs), Euro (and cents), Italy (lira), Switzerland, Germany (marks and pfennigs), Bulgaria (stotinki), Russia (rubles)

Other: Guatemala (Quetzal), Guyana (dollars), Argentina (centavos), Haiti (gourde)

A decently diverse collection. These guys had clearly been up to no good in any number of places and for a good while.

An enterprising cacher who found these ill-gotten gains interesting could perhaps expand their own collection by trading-in some coins from other countries and regions or even US coins from past eras.

Rumor has it The Green Eye Shade Gang wrote "Coins, coins, and more coins!" somewhere on a notebook in their hidden stash. Who knows why? They should clearly figure out what they want to call their stash before they go and put it out, don't you think?
