This area holds dear to us, for a couple of reasons. This is where our first Geocache was found, that was October thanksgiving weekend while camping at Valens with Yahtzee and family in 2003. That day is very memorable to us, as it was our first time Geocaching and it was quite the adventure we went on to find the cache. We had never done this before and only had an arrow on a gps to follow, with no information as to what we were seeking. We had every element of weather that day from rain to snow, from sleet and back to rain. We managed to get lost only a couple of times, and found ourselves walking through a farmers field...only to end up going the wrong way....again. It took us just over two hours to complete and we were hooked right away.
Another reason we like this land tract so much is it is where we had the final for our Clue series. Our Clue series was the first set caches we ever put out, and was a huge series at that time. We had sooo much fun watching all the cachers running around gathering the Clues from various caches to find out the "Who dunnit and where". Seeing that the original Hyde Tract is now archived, we felt it a shame to see this not have a cache in this same place...so we have placed another cache here, for everyone to enjoy.
Through Geocaching we have traveled all over the world, and have made so many wonderful friends, we have shared many adventures and can't wait to share many more!
Hopefully, a new cacher will find this cache as thier first cache ever and will be hooked as much as we are.
