Jory-Ville park is located off of Jory Hill road in south Salem. You must park at the trail head and walk the rest of the way. This is a great place for picnics with the family and also trail riding with your horse! Usually not more then one or two groups ever there at one time as this park was long forgotten by many.
Container is a snap-lock plastic box, partially covered in camo tape. Due to the fact this is a public park, please rehide it well when you put it back. Good luck to all and enjoy the park. If you listen hard you will hear the family of Eagles that live up there.
Dogs are welcome, but please keep them leashed since the trails are heavily used by horseback riders.
P.S. It's a steep hill, but it's not meant to be driven up! The gate is almost always shut and locked... if you find it open on the way up, it may not be on the way back down, so park at the bottom. :)
Okay ... the cache has meandered off on its own yet again ... didn't have a GPS (and it wouldn't do much good here anyway), so! Use the hint if you need it. Don't trust the coordinates too much. :P
Update: Dear geocachers, it appears that the larger container that went missing in 2013 has reappeared, like we thought it might! Whichever container you find, large or small, just sign the log, it's okay. We're not picky. :)
One more update: Be prepared for the elevation change! It's about +160 feet over 0.3 miles.... similar to taking the stairs up a 16-story building. Do not attempt this cache if you can't physically make it to the top of the road!
