Geocache Description:

A nano cache Near a Montana State Highway Commission Benchmark. Don't Forget Your Pencil.

This is the first in a series of caches found near Montana State Highway Commission Benchmark's. You may have seen these benchmarks as you drive around the state. They are those three foot tall concrete post with numbered wood signs bolted to two sides. On the top is a bronze disk. If you have done the "Find the Benchmark, Find the Cache" series you may have found one of these as some are used by the NGS as Benchmarks. The neat thing about these state benchmarks is that the numbering system is the altitude, you can check you GPS and see how close they got to the correct altitude. Unlike the Find the Benchmark series, the coordinates listed will take you to the cache and you will not need to do further research to help locate the cache.
