The Valley Pronunciation Guide (VPG) cache series highlights places commonly mispronounced by non-natives (that includes us)!
This cache is near a restaurant quite popular with I-81 travelers. When we tell out-of-staters that we live near Staunton, VA they often say "Oh, yes! We like to stop there to eat at [that restaurant]!" and they almost always pronounce it wrong. It rhymes with "cows", not "crows".
Cache is very small and the log is difficult to remove, so we have provided a tape handle. When replacing the log, PLEASE make sure the handle is facing up to assist the next finder. Bring your own writing implement and a safety pin in case the "handle" comes off.
This cache is meant to be IN PLAIN SIGHT. Recently, folks have been shoving it down into a crevice and it is next to impossible to remove. So PLEASE just replace it simply.
Please be very watchful for muggles, especially around mealtimes.
