CONGRATS TO STEALTHCOWBOY FOR FTF!!!
I have a collection of TB's from a recent trip and decided that the
area was in need of a Hotel. Let's make this a great hotel by
keeping it full of visitors. If you take a TB, please replace it
with one. Enjoy and let's get these bugs back on the road!! Cache
Info: .3 miles up the trail, there are some ancient Indian grinding
rocks. From what I have read, the Indians used these to grind
acrons into a flour. They consist of a big rock that has holes that
were made by Indians. The holes were called mortars. At first the
rock was flat but when Indians ground acorns the marks left were
holes and that is how mortars are made. They used rocks called
pestles to grind the acorns and pestles were just rocks they found.
CAUTION: When looking at the Indian mortars, please hang on to the
little ones. There is a 8 foor drop off to one edge. Easy access
from Serrano Visitor Center.
