The cache is not located at the above listed coordinates. They take you approximately to the county/state line.. You must first figure out the puzzle to Nevada County to find the REAL coordinates. This is the next in my series of county line caches. The new location is much safer to pull off and stretch your legs to find the cache but still be careful.
Over the past two years now I have traveled throughout the State with a new perspective (I can officially say that now I have passed my “official” two year anniversary). Not like I used to… before I would fly through little burgs and towns without taking a second look. I have always traveled for work but never took the time to “see” where I was going. I would hit a town do my work and go back to the hotel and sit in my room clicking the clicker until the wee hours of the morning.
Now, every new town I pass through is an awakening. I thrive on the new treasures I see… monuments I have whizzed by a hundred times in my life are now new nuggets of knowledge, vista points I passed without a blink are postcard images burned in my mind, and side streets of towns are secret treasures that only non tourists find. Geocaching has made me stop and smell the roses.
Hopefully, this little puzzle will help enlighten you on the County of Nevada and maybe make you “stop and smell the roses” too.

It boasted a vast system of canals and flumes, its 7,800-foot drainage tunnel was termed a feat of engineering skill. It was the principal defendant in an anti-debris lawsuit settled in 1884 by Judge Lorenzo Sawyer's famous decision, which created control that virtually ended hydraulic mining in California. The location of this landmark is at the Malakoff Diggins State Historic Park, 16 mi E of State Hwy 49 on Tyler Foote Crossing Rd, plaque located in park diggins overlook, 28 mi N of Nevada City.

The cache is in a better location than the first one.
I would like to thank geospyder for being my sponsor in the area for this cache.
Oh, one more interesting factoid about Nevada County, the county lines are said to have been drawn to resemble a gun pointing at Nevada because early residents were angry with the state of Nevada for stealing their county's name. Hmmm….
As always, enjoy.
