Geocache Description:

Located in the Carlton Reserve. Easy enough hike to take the kids.

2020 Update - Cache has been adopted by Jimbolaya! It is currently the oldest cache in Sarasota County. The cache is located on the red trail. Follow it out from the main picnic area - go either left or right, it is about half way. It is currently a camo-painted ammocan. There are some interpretive signs along the way to learn about the local ecosystem. Enjoy!

I have just adopted this cache (from Mr and Mrs Pooch) in the Carlton Reserve Park. The cache container is a brand new clear lock n' lock filled with lots of new goodies, including a signature Travel Bug "Fantastic Florida Frog".

The cache and it's name sake got their names from the hundreds of tiny (about the size of a fingernail) frogs that were in the area when the original cache was placed (must have been after the rainy season).

The cache is off one of the trails, but no bushwacking is required. This cache should be kid-friendly, as the terrain is very easy. The trails were dry and clear of debris when I replaced the container in mid June.

Happy hunting !!
