Located at Ye Old Voluntown Pound. The terrain is flat and possibly wet, especially if it has rained. This should be a quick park and grab. CONGRATULATIONS to CycleMaineiac for FTF!!!
This is a small to medium sized plastic "lock and lock" container filled with children's toys, bandaids, brain teaser games and $5.00 for FTF.
You will park at Sterling's oldest animal pound, an amazing rock enclosed holding area . It was used to contain loose livestock in the 1700's when the town of Sterling was still part of Voluntown, thus the name. (Sterling became an established town in 1794.) Look around and imagine what life was like in this small New England town when the pound was filled with horses, cows and sheep. If someone was missing their livestock, they knew where to go to find them.
