Geocache Description:

Fine panoramic views across Kinder, Cracken Edge and Combs Edge.

The cache is not at the above location. It is a simple 2 part offset with the final about 500 metres from the given location. The total trip is about 2.5 miles. The coordinates are for a plaque to commemorate a leading member of the ramblers association. Here you will find some information: ABCD-EFGH I = Number of words on the first line J = Number of words on the last line The cache is at: N53 2(B-G).(C+H)DG, W 001 5(G-I).CI(J-H-A)

You can return the same way or for a better walk take one of the paths up Mount Famine and make a circular walk back to the parking spot.

This is my favourite local hill. In times gone by we used to walk home from Edale to Bugsworth once or twice a year and it was always a matter of honour to go up South Head no matter how tired you were. On a clear day this is one of the best views to be found. In those days there was no official access to South Head or Mount Famine and we should thankful that the National Trust have bought the land, preserved the landscape and given free access to all.

You do not need to cross or disturb any drystone walls to find the cache.

Please also note the track is a Bridleway for non powered vehicles only.
