The past two times i've been here, i was greeted by 2 beavers who didnt really mind my presence, but werent too happy about my dog. Both times, i got about 5 feet away from them, and they didnt seem to care, only slapping tails on the water when the dog got too close.
There is also a spot near the cache where you can see little beaver trails going from the lake to the river. Yep, lots of beaver action here, and a whole lotta munchin' goin' on. Bring a camera and post pics if you can!
There may be other trails that circle around the pond, but i know one of them has a sign stating 'Private road'. I found this area while looking for Ivy Mountain State Park, and found out it's been sold to a farm and is now private property.
Cache is a small camoed lock-n-lock, may not be available in winter.
