Geocache Description:

This cache is a plastic rubber made type container that is approximately 2”x12”x14”. It is located on the Peninsula Trails in Lake Placid, NY. It is a short hike/bike and easy terrain.

It is less than 15 minutes from your car to the location of the cache. If you have a dog definitely bring him/her along! It's a great trail for dogs. It is also great for mountain biking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, etc.! It leads you to the Lake Placid dam and the crystal clear waters of Lake Placid. You Parking coordinates: There are at least three different parking areas to use to get to this cache. I am going to post the most popular coordinates - this is the one I use. N 44.17.943 W 073.59.682 (We placed "Taking Harley for a walk #1") This is one of my favorite trail systems for walking our first dog Harley. The turn for the penisula trails is near Howard Johnsons. In the summertime be sure to bring a bathing suit. The water is crystal clear and very clean. This area is very dog friendly! You will see many dogs on an average summer day. This trail system is full of muggles - winter or summer, so be careful. In the winter it is a popular cross country ski trail and snowshoeing trail. In the summer it is a mountain bike/walking trail. You can get a trail map at the sign-in log at the entrance to the trail head. You will know that you are close to the cache if you come across a bridge and dam. You DO NOT need to bush whack or get wet to find this cache. Stay on the trail that leads to the dam. FTF = March 22 by jussijatytti (129 found) This was our first FTF (at 12.10)in USA. We visited this beautiful place with our daughter, son-in-law and grand-child. Thanks for the nice cache and first find price! We left TB Tina the turtle to start its long and slow journey to Finland.
