Geocache Description:

There is a very interesting cut through stone near the State Police facility in South Charleston, WV. It was cut for a railroad which brought out coal from points south. I have heard that the mine portal was sealed in the 70's after some children were injured playing in it.

If you follow the railroad grade south it veers right with Trace Fork and leads into Little Creek Park. Although the mine was probably up Davis Creek, I could not find any remnants of a bridge crossing. If anyone has more iformation please let me know.

Be very careful crossing the busy road to the entrance to the cut. Wait for the light and it should not be any problem.

Entrance to the Cut

Inside the cut is a beautiful flower carved into the stone that inspired the name of this cache.

I identified four good parking locations and have listed their specific rules with the images of the spots. They are numbered according to their distance from the cache location.

The original contents of the container are flower related and there is a special first finder prize of a debit card to Lowes.

Enjoy the hunt and please re-hide well.
