This cache is placed as a tribute to our 18th President of the United States, and Galena resident, Ulysses S. Grant. The cache is intended to bring you to the Grant Home Historic Site where you can visit Grant's home and the surrounding historic buildings, sculpture and parks.
Park at the following coordinates for easy access to the cache.

W 090.25.471
Follow the posted coordinates for this cache to the historic building adjacent to the parking lot. There you will find an interpretive sign that holds the answer to the following question:
"What year was the building built?" Year = ABCD
Discover the coordinates for the final cache by replacing the letters with the numbers from above:

During the non-winter months, the door of the historic building will be open. You might increase your chances of finding the final cache by bringing a few pennies for a task at the building. Be sure to make your wish first. FYI. Our four year old daughter completed the task successfully on the first try.
